Why are A2Zoom doing this?

I recently attended an important exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery of the works of Irving Penn. Irving Pen was a post war photographer who pushed his creative boundaries of his trade. One of his projects was entitled "Small Trades" It covered everyday people with a tool or prop used within their trades and professions. They ranged from coalman, engine driver, charwomen, sculptors model, train station porter to a beer delivery man. A huge number of trades were covered. The majority of photographs were shot in studio and were black and white. It has become my inspiration to undertake a similar project but with my own twist concentrating on trades in the county of Hertfordshire. The culmination of this project will result in an exhibiton showing the diverse range of trades and those faces of the people behind them.

Why should I take part?.....

We are seeking to capture a little piece of history and you can be part of it. We are proud to be supporting the Hertfordshire Air Ambulance Service with a generous part of the proceeds being donated to this charity. All funding is through donation with no help from councils or government and it costs an astounding £130.000 per month to keep the helecoptor flying. Be first to proudly represent your industry, business or profession. This project may help to bring Wide visibility and awareness for you and your business.

We anticipate each session taking on average up to half an hour.

For the techies amongst you. What equipment will you be using in the studio?

Whilst we have the latest modern cameras in studio we shall in fact be using a Leica rangefinder camera. Although it is a modern version, when it is matched with its excellent Leica prime lenses it is hard to beat in terms of quality. It is a personal view but we feel that Leica make the best lenses in the world!
